Alphosine E. Girard, 85, Vermillion, died Thursday (April 18, 1985) in Sioux City, at the home of her daughter. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in St, Agnes Catholic church in Vermillion. Rev. Richard Mahowald officiated. Burial was in Calvary cemetery in Vermillion.

Mrs. Girard, whose maiden name was also Girard was born March 14, 1900 in Clyde, Kan. She moved to the Burbank and Vermillion areas when a child.

She married Adelore Girard in Vermillion June 14, 1918. Mr. Girard died Feb. 23. 1983.

She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Rose Anna) Kunkel of Sioux City;.four sons, Leo, Vermillion, Joe, Burbank, LeRoy, Sioux Falls, and Leonard, Portland, Ore.; four sisters, Melvina Kunmke, Emma Begnoche, Mrs. Everett Clay and Beulah Brown, all of Sioux City; five brothers, Harvey of Sioux City, Emil, North Sioux City, Israel, Vermillion, Isadore, Akron, and Ranal of South Sioux City; 32 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
