Elizabeth L. Dighton was born at Godmanchester, England, January 5, 1872, where she grew to womanhood. On March 26, 1894, she was married to George Barringer. Six children were born to them, three sons and three daughters, all of whom are living.
The same year of their marriage they emigrated to America (coming to Dell Rapids, where they lived for a number of years until they moved to their farm near Rothsay).
Mrs. Barringer was a devoted wife and a dear mother to her family, and her memory will always be cherished by her many friends and neighbors. She made frequent visits to Dell Rapids after leaving here and was known to many residents here.
The husband, three sons and three daughters, three brothers and three sisters mourn her departure.
The funeral for Mrs. George Barringer, whose death occurred in the neighborhood of Rothsay, took place from the Ebenezer Church in this city this forenoon, Rev. Roesi officiating. Rev. Mr. Roesti also conducted services at the home yesterday afternoon. The funeral was quite largely attended and a large number of relatives and friends accompanied the remains to this city. Representatives of the Degree of Honor lodge of Breckenridge of which she was a member were also present. The floral offerings were beautiful. The burial was at Mt. Faith cemetery here. Chas. Schwartz, John Zimmerman, Otto Weisharr, Ralph Camp, H. Harvego and H. Clauson acted as pallbearers.
