Obituary:
MRS. MARY BAKER DANIEL
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favors rather than silver and gold. Again the death angel has visited our midst, and taken our beloved sister Mary Baker DANIELL. Sister DANIELL was born March 24, 1861, and departed this life Oct. 27, 1946. She united with the church at Salem in 1879, she joined the Pavo Primitive Baptist Church in 1900, and was ever faithful, attending regularly when physically able. She was married to C. H. DANIELL, Sept. 22, 1878. To them were born ten children, seven boys and three girls. She was a sweet Christian mother who was devoted to her home, her church and her God. The funeral was held at Pavo Primitive Baptist Church, conducted by her former pastor, Elder D. O. LEWIS. She was laid to rest in the Salem Church Cemetery by the side of her husband. The floral offerings attested the esteem in which she was held, being in profusion and beauty.
We thank God for her life, and for what it has meant in her home, and in her church and community. We extend our deepest sympathy to the bereaved family, and pray that God will sustain them by his grace, and fill the vacancy with his divine presence. Be it resolved that a copy of this become a part of the church record, a copy be sent to the family, and a copy to the Banner-Herald and Good Samaritan. Lovingly submitted by her niece, Mrs. J. W. Baker, Jr."
