Vernon John Aberle II, 60, of Washington, IL died at 7:10 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2004, at the Danville Veterans Facility in Danville.

Born February 16, 1943, in Peoria to Vernon John and Dora Ellen Seih Aberle, he married Glenda Dully on November 25, 1964, in Morton. She survives.

Also surviving are his father of Washington; one son, Steven R. of Washington; one daughter Shelly L. of Washington; two sisters, Mary (and Ron) Anderson of Brimfield and Helen (and Dennis) Moore of Chillicothe; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.

He was a self-employed farmer and had worked at Pabst Brewing Co. in Peoria Heights for many years, retiring in 1982.

He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam War veteran and also served in Turkey, Spain and Germany.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. is in charge of arrangments.

Memorials may me made to Brain Injury Disorders or the American Diabetes Association.

In December 2001, my Uncle John was hit by an elderly driver while riding his bike. He succumbed to his injuries in February 2004.
