Loyd K Nansel Dies Friday; Services Held Sunday Afternoon Loud K. Nansel, 50, who had been ill for the past year, died at his home near Arnold on Friday, March 10. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Arnold on Sunday, March 12 at 2o'clock with Dr. Roy Spooner, Dearney, in charge. Services at the cemetery were in charge of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Mrs. Ray Ricketts, Mrs. Frank Henry, Don Swanson, and Harry Goodenow sang during the services, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Tillmen Crawley. Pall bearers were: Arthur Henry, Lester Joy, Clark Andrew, Paul Weinman, Cecil Lewis and R.R. Potter. Loyd K. Nansel, son of Godfrey and Sarah Nansel, was born near Callaway, Nebraska Sept 6 1899. He died at Arnold, Nebraska on March 10 1950 at the age of 50 years, six months and four days. In April, 1905, he came with his parents to Arnold, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was married to Lois Mae Avers, of Edgar, Nebraska, on May 2 1927 and four sons and three daughters were born to this union. One son, Delmar Darrell, preceded him in death on January 7, 1945. After the death of his wife on July 21 1941, he was left with a family of small children to rear, and despite hardships and difficulties, he managed to keep his family together and provide a most secure home life. He was affiliated with the No. 297 I.O.O.F. ledge and attained the high honor of Past Noble Grand. He is survived by three daughters: Theda Patsy, Ardith Joyce, and Shirley Ann; three sons: Wayne Everett, Loyd Kenneth, Jr. and Ralph Alden; seven brothers; three sisters and many other relatives and friends.
