Mr. COMER was born March 3, 1935, in Floris, the son of Virble F. COMER and Evelyn RANARD. He married Sharon Joyce WING Nov. 15, 1953, in Ottumwa.
Mr. COMER graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1953. He later graduated from the Rockford School of Theology in 1975. He was a self-employed painter for many years, retiring in 1996.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Diana FLYNN and Cynthia LAUGHLIN and husband Grant, all of Fairfield; one son, Lloyd James COMER and wife Rhonda of Rockford, Ill.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet MILLER of Fairfield; former son-in-law, James FLYNN of Fairfield; and stepmother, Connie COMER of Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Grover "Bob" RANARD; and one daughter, Deborah Rae COMER.
