James Duke Asbell, age 72, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010 at his residence in Trenton. Mr. Asbell was born on June 13, 1937 in Trenton to James Shelton Asbell & Ila Louise Watson Asbell. He was a lifelong resident of the area, a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church & he was a Godly family man. Mr. Asbell owned and operated Southland Trucking.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: L.M. Asbell, Enoch N. Asbell & Robert E. Asbell.

He is survived by his wife, Elnor Horne Waddle Asbell of Trenton, Fl., 6 daughters: Deborah Sturgeon of Archer, Fl., Teresa (Eddie) Barron of Chiefland, Fl., Leah (Abraham) Blitch of Chiefland, Fl., Patricia (Martin) Hayden of Lake Butler, Fl., Glenda Lindsey of Trenton, Fl., & Eugenia (Randy) Wigginton of Dansville, MI., 2 sons: Norman (Lynn) Waddle, Jr. of Trenton, Fl., & Jory Marshall of Trenton, Fl., 5 sisters: Rosella Bublitz of Trenton, Fl., Alene Colson of Trenton, Fl., Jetty Blake of Chiefland, Fl., Mary Ann Griner of Chiefland, Fl., & Carolyn Morgan of Trenton, Fl., 24 grandchildren & 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, May 03, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Douglas, Pastor officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment followed at Asbell Cemetery.
