The Barto family lived on Parry Avenue in Palmyra, NJ. They were longtime members of Central Baptist Church and very active there. Irma C. Barto was afflicted with polio in her youth and spent her adulthood confined to a wheelchair. However, this never stopped her from being active in the community. She had a car that was outfitted with hand controls that she drove often. She also had a great talent for music and taught piano lesson from her home.
