His 1st name is Sheppard. He was named after his mother. This stone, was only recently placed here, and the spelling of his name is not correct. There are plenty of records "on file", that document the correct spelling.

The memorial stone was placed in Little Buckhead Cemetery, but possibly Shepard Brinson was not buried in this cemetery. The information on the stone is faded and difficult to read, but these are the words:
IN MEMORY OF SHEPARD (Sheppard) BRINSON, JAN 15, 1795-FEB 1, 1855 SON OF ADAM BRINSON,II A SOLDIER OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, AND MARY SHEPARD BRINSON AND HIS WIFE ELIZABETH BELCHER BRINSON MAY 9, 1798-FEB 23, 1857
