Gene Wesley Fowler, Sr., was born in Atlanta, GA. He married Wilma Dicks in 1950 and moved to Plant City in 1956. He served in the Pacific during WWII in the 112th Calvary, and was Chief of Radiology at Lakeland Regional Medical Center for over 30 years before retiring in 1986. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and since retirement, observing legal proceedings at Plant City court house. He is survived by his wife Wilma; daughter Ginger Brinton (Charles); son Gene Jr. and partner Rich Benson; grandchildren Courtney Brinton, Chuck Brinton (Mindy); and great-granddaughter Avery. Interment at Florida National Cemetery.
