Dayle Gill

SPRINGFIELD — A graveside inurnment service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 23, at Crawfordsville Cemetery for Dayle Raymond Gill of Springfield, who died April 28 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 72.

He was born July 1, 1937, in Crawfordsville, to Charlie and Susan Duffield Gill. He married Georgia Moorman on Feb. 27, 1992, in Reno, Nev.

He graduated from high school in Crawfordsville. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1954 in Germany. He was a truck driver and road construction worker in the logging industry for more than 50 years. He worked for Eaton Quarry and North Fork Excavating.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jade Beagley of Springfield; four stepdaughters, Tammy DeDunden of Eugene, Paula Degarmo of Newburg, Debbie Barden of Redmond and LeAnn Fiess of Washington D.C.; and five grandchildren.
