Becker-Babcock

A quiet but pretty home wedding took place Wednesday noon when Miss Beva Becker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Becker, was united in marriage to Mr. Howard Babcock. Eighteen near relatives of the young couple witnessed the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Claude Davis, pastor of the Presbyterian church. The ring service was used. The room was tastefully decorated with chrysanthemums and roses. The bride was gowned in a creation of blue silk. Before the wedding and while it was in progress Mrs. Davis played softly on the piano.

After congratulations the wedding party was invited to partake of a bountiful dinner, prepared by Mrs. Becker, and a short time later the bridal couple accompanied by Newton Babcock and Miss Leda Rice, left for Wichita where a modern home completely furnished, awaited them.

Seldom have two more popular young people been married in Harper than Mr. and Mrs. Howard Babcock. Both have been leaders among the younger set of the town and number their friends by their acquaintances. The bride is an accomplished and attractive young woman a graduate of the Harper high school and and in every equipped to mike a worthy helpmate for the one of her choice. Howard Babcock is a young man of fine character and energy. After graduating from the Harper high school he attended school at the Gunter College. About a year ago he entered the Kansas National Bank of Wichita and he has been advanced several times since then.
