Henry Adam's 1st wife was Camilla Linna BLECHSCHMIDT, born 9 Jan 1869 and died 13 May 1893 per age of death on her cemetery marker.
Camilla was born in Neuensalz near Plauen/Vogtland / Saxony / Germany.
She was the 9th child of Johann Gottlob Blechschmidt, the 5th one of his second wife CHRISTIANE Wilhelmine Kralitscheck.
Camilla emigrated in 1888 as an unmarried young woman, arriving on March 19, 1888 in NYC (with Ship Rhaetia).
Camilla had a sister Alma b. 1866, and Helen d.1947
She left Germany two years after her older sister Helen(e) BLECHSCHMIDT who also lived in Norwalk/CT and was married to a tailor (Christian KRAEMER).
(I enter this here as I don't administer Camilla's page.)
Checking with military experts, I've had no luck finding out what uniform my Grandpa Henry Adam was wearing in the photo.
I have tried to contact my cousin, Aunt Helen's daughter, to see if anyone saved some of the belongings when Grandma Anna, and Grandpa Henry Adam died. I still remember how grandpa would bring out an old cigar box, and go through war medals, and historical items, even a tiny songbook from the military.
At the foot of the stairs, at 23 Camp Street, left of the front door, there was a huge print of many horses in wild activity... I still remember it clearly.
Sister of Henry Adam Zarges...
Elise Wilhelmina Johanna Zarges 26 Apr 1874 Arolsen, Barsdorf Germany-4 Aug 1959 309 Ely Ave, S Norwalk CT.
Elise married Julius August Deysenroth.
