Otto Schnell, aged 54, passed away at his farm home in the town of Schleswig on Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock while resting in his chair, the cause of his death being a sudden heart attack. Although the deceased was in failing health for the past several months, his death was not expected so suddenly.
The deceased, who was the son of Frederick and Flora Schnell was born on a farm in the town of Eaton on April 19, 1883. He was married to Miss Ida Voss of the town of Schleswig on December 2, 1903 and the couple located on their present farm home.
Two children were born to the couple, a son Frederick at home, and a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Eldora) Matznick of the town of Schleswig; two grandchildren, two brothers, William of Schleswig and and Adolph of Plymouth, and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Wetzel of Plymouth, and Mrs. Mollie Karstaedt of the town of Rhine also survive. His wife passed away on February 4, 1930.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the C. J. Meiselwitz Funeral Home here at 1:30 o'clock, and at 2 o'clock services were held in the Bethlehem Reformed church in the town of Schleswig. The Rev. August H. Hammann officiated, and burial was made in the Ucker Road cemetery, in the town of Eaton.
