Ben Tatkenhorst
Ben Tatkenhorst, son of William and Elisa [sic-Eliza] (nee Meier) Tatkenhorst, was born Sept. 9, 1896, in Lincoln Co., Kansas. He was baptized into the Christian faith Oct. 4, 1896, by Pastor Hahn at St. John Lutheran Church, Lincoln, Kan. He was confirmed in the Christian faith Palm Sunday, March 20, 1910.
On Aug. 25, 1918, he was united in marriage to Olga Wiegert. This union was blessed with three daughters. In 1943 he retired from their farm southeast of Lincoln and moved into Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his wife.
Survivors include his three daughters, Mrs. Velma Bartels, Mrs. Alice Hearn and Mrs. Ruth Zier, all of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Lena Wiegert of Lincoln.
Ben Tatkenhorst passed away Nov. 14, 1971, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 5 days.
