Rudolph H. Kletzien, 77, of 1218 S. North St., Manitowoc, died Thursday at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been admitted the day before.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, the Rev. Alfred Pritzl officiating. Burial will be in Ucker Cemetery, Town of Schleswig.

Mr. Kletzien was born July 12, 1883, in the Town of Schleswig, son of the late Abraham and Amelia Hensel Kletzien. He married Louise Christel Sept. 18, 1905, at S. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, and after resideing at Valders for a time the couple came to Manitowoc in 1918. They observed the golden anniversary of their wedding in 1955.

Mr. Kletzien had been and auto mechanic and had been employed by Mantiowoc Shipbuilding Inc., from 1942 until retirement in 1950. He was a member of Manitowoc Machinists Lodge 516. For many years Mr. Kletzien followed a hobby of making and collecting grandfathers clocks and attained widespread attention for his accomplishments in fabricating wheels for the timepieces.

Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Victor Czekala and Mr. John Ohlsen of Manitowoc, Mrs. Donal Underberg of Rt. 3, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Edwards Keller of Granada Hills, Calif.; three sons, Erwin and Lincoln of Manitowoc and Donald of Menasha; 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. eight brother and a sister preceded him in death.
