She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alfred C. and Jesse B. Keeley.
A graduate of East High School and the University of Utah, she was active in student government and a member of Lamba Delta Sigma, Delta Delta Delta, and Spurs. In 1945, she married B. Grant Pugh in the Salt Lake Temple.
Helen was a convert and served faithfully in the auxiliaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She taught at Roosevelt Elementary for many years. In her younger years, she served as a Girl Scout leader at Camp Cloud Rim and was an avid hiker into her eighties.
She is survived by husband B. Grant Pugh, children: Marilyn P. Caldwell (Roy), Richard G. Pugh (Jan), and B. Charles Pugh (Jewel), twenty grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, brother Arthur R. Keeley (Nadine), sister Beverly K. Reed (Charles), and brother-in-law Spencer R. Pugh. She was preceded in death by sister Jolene Keeley.
Funeral services will be held in the Winder Seventh Ward Chapel, 4350 South 1100 East, at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Friends and family may gather on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), and Saturday at the Church one hour prior to the services.
Interment at Elysian Burial Gardens.
