Arthur Ray Keeley passed away on Oct. 26, 2012.
He was born to Alfred C. and Jessie Busby Keeley on March 30, 1926 in Salt Lake City. Art graduated from East High School in 1944. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Philippines during World War II. He attended Utah State Agricultural College (USU). Following graduation, he received a commission in the US Army and fought in the Korean War. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in action. Prior to a military assignment in West Germany, he married Nadine Aagard in the Idaho Falls Temple on Aug. 3, 1954. He taught LDS seminary in Lovell, WY, (1957 to 1966) and Hyrum, UT. (1966 -1991). After retiring, Art continued to be active in community and church. He was involved in family history and served in the Logan Temple.
Art is survived by his wife, Nadine; children: Claudia (Reed) Webb, David (Joyce), James (Marlene), Lisa (Thor) Lindstrom, Kevin (Karen), Karen (David) Davis, Marianne (Andrew) Grasley, Paul (Jerianna), Rebecca, and Christopher (Shennie); 47 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and a sister, Beverly (Chick) Reid.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Helen and Jolene, and daughter Elizabeth. Viewings will be held Fri., Nov. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen Hall Mortuary (34 East Center Street Logan, UT) and Sat., Nov. 3, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hyrum Utah North Stake Center - 245 Apple Dr (750 E), Hyrum, Utah. The Funeral will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Hyrum Cemetery.
