KAYSVILLE - Alice Tame Saldivar, born May 6, 1925 to Clifford and Frances Tame in Murray, Utah, died peacefully May 2, 2006 at Mt. Ogden Nursing Home after a long illness. She was raised a farm girl in Midvale, Utah, with a large extended-family and many animals. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1943 as valedictorian. She traveled the world, seeing the United States and Asia with her first husband, Errett J. Floto and children. She especially loved Alaska, with its natural beauty and animals, and Japan, with its friendly people and extensive history. She later visited her daughter Claire in Germany, Turkey, and England, seeing ancient and modern sites.

She served three missions for the LDS Church: Southeastern Mission, while with her first husband in Arkansas; a Liahona Branch Fellowshipping and Literacy Mission in Salt Lake City she later adopted into the Hopi Indian tribe and earned her eagle feathers; and the Dominican Republic Mission with her second husband Eulogio P. Saldivar.

Alice loved her six children, over 30 grandchildren, and over 15 great-grandchildren. She was always sending cards, sewing presents, and making phone calls to keep up with their busy lives.

She also loved music. She played the piano and organ. She sang opera with her glorious soprano voice during much of her early life. She taught piano, organ, and voice to others for over 40 years. She served in various callings in the LDS Church all her life. She spent much of her later years attending the LDS temples, doing family history extraction work, making ceramics, listening to classical music, and visiting friends and family members.

She is preceded in death by her second husband Eulogio P. Saldivar. She is survived by her sister Joyce Stevens and brother Eldon Tame; her first husband, Errett J. Floto; her sons Dennis L. Floto, Errett J. Floto Jr., Bryan C. Floto, Neil E. Floto and her daughters Claire Billings and Lisa Shelton.

We would like to extend our appreciation to Mt. Ogden Nursing Home and Inspiration Hospice for their kindness.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Road.

Funeral directors, Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.
