Eldon Floyd Tame, devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and U.S. Army veteran, passed away in the presence of loving family members on his ninety-first birthday, January 24, 2021.

He was born in Midvale in 1930 to Clifford and Frances Tame, the second of three children. He married Evelyn Sevey in 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Eldon spent his life in the service of others, always imparting words of wisdom when those around him crumbled. He grew up on a small farm in Murray, learning firsthand the value of an honest day's work. Graduating at the top of his class in Auto Fuel & Electrical Systems Repair, he served his country as an Automotive Electrician for the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon leaving the Army, Eldon obtained a degree from the University of Utah in Electrical Engineering and continued to provide invaluable contributions to various United States defense projects.

Eldon shared over sixty cherished years of marriage with his wife, Evelyn, assuming the role of full-time caretaker to his disabled adult son until the last weeks of his life. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eldon also served in the Jordan River Temple for twenty-one years. His selfless devotion to his family and his Savior was an inspiring example of faith and perseverance to all those who knew him. He truly embodied the spirit of Christ-like love.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Laurie (Rob), Danette (Will), Floyd (Sherrie), Brad (Connie), Trisha (Richard), and Jeff; twenty-one grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alice and Joyce, and grandchild, Floyd Bryce Tame, Jr.

Eldon's family would like to thank the Intensive Care Unit staff at the VA Hospital for their kindness and service to him in his last hours.
