GOLDEN, JESSIE LEON - age 92, of Clinton passed away at home, Saturday evening. April 24th, 2010. Leon was a member, of First Baptist Church of Clinton since 1937. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was an avid gardener and restored antique cars. He loved to spend time with his family and had a great sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Golden and Martha Massengill Golden; brothers, Charlie, Gid, Clarence, Dave, Harve, Cecil and Hobert; sisters, Naomi and Stella; grandson, Gary Wayne Hylton.

He is survived by his wife, of 73 years, Delores Roy Golden and daughter, Judy Golden Hylton and her husband, James Hylton, of Clinton; grandsons, Michael Kevin Hylton and wife, Amy Hylton, of Oak Ridge and Jeffrey Leon Hylton and wife, Christa Hylton, of New York; great-grandchildren, Noah James Hylton, Patience Roberts Hylton and George Benjamin Hylton.

Special thanks to nieces; Karen, Pam, Jenea, Anne, Lucille and Thelma; nephew, Ronnie and special friend, Sharon Settles. And a heartfelt thank you to the church family at First Baptist. Memorials may be made to Clinton First Baptist Church Family Life Center or charity of your choice.

The funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Woodhaven Memorial Park. Funeral services will be led by Pastor Stan Elliot and Associate Pastor Terry Baker, of First Baptist Church, Clinton. Pall bearers will be Mike Hylton, Jeff Hylton, Wayne Carey, Nick Raby, Shannon Settles and Ronnie Golden. Holley Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
