DOWN THE DECADES - 1921 - "Clarence ROTH OF White Sulphur Springs has torn down his blacksmith shop and intends to build a new and up to date one in it place".

Pallbearers were George Ludwig, Peter Smith, Eben Lawrence, Edward Everett, John H Townsend and Ira Edwards.
Son of the late Gustave Roth of Brooklyn and Samantha Inderlied of Youngsville. He spent his boyhood years with Grandmother Inderlied at Youngsville where he learned blacksmithing with his uncle Alanson Inderlied.
Sept 10 1890 married Miss Adella Stoddard daughter of M & M Solon Stoddard of Youngsville at the Jacobs home, where they kept house until the following summer when they removed to the new house built by Mr Roth at White Sulphur Springs, where he had established himself in the blacksmith business.
He acquired several acres of land in that village some of which he later sold off in building lots and played a part in the development of the place.

Leaves wife and the following sons and daughters ; Edwin C of White Sulphur Springs; Mae, wife of Harry Maisenhelder, a professional musician of Kingston; Charlotte, Clarence and Edith at home.
Charles, the eldest son, died during the flu epidemic of 1918."
