He had been on a business trip last week to the city and fell ill only since Friday.
Eldest son of E Roth and Adele Stoddard he was born March 2 1892 in White Sulphur Springs.
On June 1913 he came to Youngsville and went into partnership in the hardware business with his uncle, the late Bert S Stoddard and continued the business since the latter's death.
He was a well know musician at dances.
Leaves his parents, 2 brother, 3 sisters - Edwin, Clarence, May, Charlotte and Edith all of White Sulphur Springs.
Burial Youngsville Cemetery."
