Mr. W. J. "Jay" Horton, 87, of Westbury Nursing Home, formerly of 793 Joy Street, died February 08, 2009. He had been in declining health for sometime.
Mr. Horton was the son of the late Chester Horton and Mary Laura Horton.
Mr. Horton was a member of the First Baptist Church, Jackson. Member of Flovilla Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services were conducted from Sherrell-Wilson-Mangham Funeral Home. Interment in Jackson City Cementery.
Besides his parents, Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 33 years, Mrs. Frances Baxter Kitchens Horton; son, Jackson "Jack" Horton.
Mr. Horton is survived by three daughters; Sandra Horton, Johnnie H. Banks and Tracy H.; two step-daughters, Margaret K. Miller and Jean K. Whitaker; one step-son, Bert Kitchens.
