Paul Borts, 57, of Mingo, died Tuesday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Born April 24, 1916 in Jasper County to Eli [Bud] Borts and Bertha Skinner Borts, he was raised and educated in the Mingo area and had owned and operated a grocery store and filling station on Highway 65 south of Collins. He had been disabled for the past 9 years.
He was a member of the Mingo Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Mingo with Rev. Lester Hesseltine officiating. Burial will be at Ashton Cemetery north of Mingo.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Donald Borts of Sigourney; and three sisters, Mrs. Reva Morrison of Collins, Mrs. Zelma Slavens of Indio, Calif.,and Mrs. Eldon [Lena] Geisler of Mingo. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, James.
Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter is in charge of services.
