Darrell was walking on I-94 in Kenosha County, WI one night, when he was hit by a northbound semitrailer truck. He died at the scene.
Darrell was born in Cudahy, Wisconsin, the son of Roland and Antoinette Varin. He attended Parkway and Rawson elementary schools, and South Milwaukee High School, all in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He worked at his father's tavern, Roland's Bar, on the corner of Milwaukee and 15th Avenues in South Milwaukee.
He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Linda (Brian) Asselin and Brenda Varin; a brother Myron Varin; his grandmother, Leah Varin; and aunts and uncles.
Services were held at St. John's Catholic Church. Molthen Bell and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
