VICTORIA - The final service in memory of Mrs. Lucy M. Mackie was held at the Methodist church in Victoria Sunday afternoon, with the Rev. R. Walker Butler, the pastor, in charge. Two duets, "Ivory Palaces," and "Asleep in Jesus," were sung by Mrs. Eunice Butler and Mrs. Esther DeWeese, and "Shadows" was sung as a solo by Oscar Johnson. Miss Grace Robinson being the accompanist. Casketbearers were Earl Mackie, Robert Mackie, Arthur Heaton, William Conner, Alfred Williams and Briggs Sornberger. Burial was in the Parker cemetery near Williamsfield. The service was largely attended and there were many beautiful flowers.
Six of Mrs. Mackie's surviving children, namely, Mrs. Albert Hammerlund of Oslo, Minn.; Mrs. George Peterson and her husband, of LaFayette; Mrs. Stanley Johnson and her husband, of Galva; Mrs. Rubena Roper and daughter Zenneth Mae and Mrs. R.D. Ecklund and her husband, of Galesburg; and Harold Mackie and wife, of Victoria, were able to be present at the service. The only one of her surviving children not able to be present was the son, Bertice L. Mackie, who is ill and in a hospital in St. Cloud, Minn.
