FINED ON CHARGE OF MAKING THREAT TO SHOOT A WOMAN

Alleged to have threatened to shoot and kill Mrs. Catherine Bigley, E. R. Phillips, of No. 80 Congress street, was arrested at her home, No. 6306 Broad street, yesterday afternoon.
Mrs. Bigley appeared against him at the East End police station this morning and told Magistrate Fred Goettman, Jr., that Phillips had come to her home Friday night, threatening to shoot her, and the she had left home for the night on account of his actions. She stated that he returned to her house Saturday and yesterday, again threatening her. Mrs. Bigley was corroborated in her story by Mrs. "Dot" McLaughlin, who resides on the second floor of the same house. Phillips denied that he had made any such threats and told the magistrate that he carried no revolver. He was fined $10 or 30 days in the workhouse.
