Thelma Bridges

Thelma Bridges, 86, of Sunnyslope passed away Sunday, January 16, 2005, at Highline nursing home.
She was born September 10, 1918, to Robert Oras and Anna Lucy (Highchew) Duncan in Wenatchee. She was raised in Cashmere's Nahahum Canyon with her nine sisters and brother. She married Ted Bridges in 1934, in Wenatchee. They had two children, Dean L. Bridges of Bonney Lake, WA, Timothy Neil Bridges of Sunnyslope, WA. Together they lived many places throughout Washington including Shelton and finally settled at their home in Sunnyslope where she lived for 46 years. Thelma worked at the Igloo Tavern in Wenatchee for 38 years! She was involved with the American Legion for 25 years, she enjoyed playing shuffle board, dancing, playing the piano, and singing with her sisters, they even put together a "kitchen" band and traveled around locally doing performances. She also loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her sisters, Berdina Boone, Laverne Carey, Betty Cockrum and Elaine Flies; her sons, Dean Bridges and Timothy Bridges; her three grandchildren, Greg Bridges, Mark Bridges and Randy Bridges; and great great-grandchildren, Marilyn, Tom, Clinton and Brady as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Leona Williams, Unis Mathews, Dorothy Carpenter, Anne Tucker, Rose Farmer and brother, Clifford Duncan.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2005, at Betts Chapel. Viewing will be 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A brief Graveside service will be held afterward at Wenatchee City Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Betts Funeral Home.
