Mrs. W.W. (Recie) Dubose, who lived in the Quail area for approximately 50 years, died Wednesday, February 23 at 9 p.m. in Thomas Nursing Center, where she had been a resident four years.
She came to Collingsworth County with her husband, the late William Wilson DuBose, in 1923, from Bell County.
A native of Tennessee, she was born February 24, 1894, the daughter of the late J.W. Stephens and Dorcas Dendton Stephens. She and Mr. DuBose were married January 4, 1911 at Sparks and lived in Ft. Worth before coming here. They were long time members of the Church of Christ.
Surviving Mrs. DuBose are 5 sisters, Mrs. Mae Hagler of Albuquerque, NM, Mrs. Sudie Melton of Wellington, Mrs. Lucille Brisbin of Madera, CA, Mrs. Irene Brisbin of Amarillo and Mrs. Carrie Melton of Borger.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 28, 1954, and by a small son, Eugene in 1915.
