SERVICES TO BE FRIDAY FOR MARY CLAY
Sevices for Mary Edna Burdine Clay will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 17 in Quail Baptist Church at Quail with the Rev. Larry White, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Quail Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home of Memphis.
Mrs. Clay was born in Paducah and raised in Quail. She married Bill Clay in 1922 in Pleasant Hill. He died in 1965. She lived in the Bray community near Hedley since 1922. She was a member of the Ring Baptist Church and was active in the Quail community. She was also a member of the Quail Friendship Club, Quail Booster Club and the Hedley Chapter of the order of Eastern Star.
She was born July 11, 1903. She died July 14, 1992 at the age of 89.
Survivors include a son, Alvie T. Clay of Hedley; four daughters, Addierene Michels of Santa Maria, Calif., Mildred Langley of Wellington, Avyrilla White of Quail, and Peggy Dawson of San Antonio; a brother, L.J. Burdine of Rice; five step-grandchildren, 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 16. They request memorials to the Hedley Senior Citizens Association or the Quail Cemetery Association.

MARY CLAY
Mary Edna Burdine Clay, 89, died Monday, July 14, 1992.
Services will be Friday, July 17 at 3 p.m. at Quail Baptist Church with Larry White, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be at the Quail Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Memphis.
Mrs. Clay was born July 11, 1903 in Paducah. Her parents were Stepheh Alvie and Levicy Avyrilla Burdine. She was reared in Quail.
She and Bill were married Oct. 22, 1922 at Pleasant Hill. She had lived in the Bray Community since 1922.
Mary Clay was active in the Quail Community, having been a member of the Quail Friendship Club, the Quail Booster Club and the Ring Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star at Hedley.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965.
She is survived by one son, Alvie Clay of Hedley; four daughters, Addierene Mickels of Santa Maria, CA; Mildred Langley of Wellington; Avyrilla White of Quail; Peggy Dawson, San Antonio; one brother; L. J. Burdine, Rise; five step-grandchildren, ten grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday, July 16 at Cox Funeral Home, Memmphis.
