CLAUDE WELLS
Claude, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Wells, died at the family home in this city on Saturday night, November 21, 1903, at the age of about eighteen months, after an illness of several weeks.
The little one was born in Chariton on May 3, 1902. He was a bright, sweet child and his death is a great blow to his parents who have the sympathy of a host of friends.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. B. F. Miller, of the M. E. church, were held at the residence on Monday afternoon at two o'clock, after which the remains were interred in the Chariton cemetery.
Out of respect to Mr. Wells, who is county clerk, the county offices in the courthouse were closed while the funeral was being held.
