Funeral services for Mrs. A. William Riber were held on Thursday afternoon of last week at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hardy. Mrs. Riber died on April 1 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Concordia, Kan., after a long illness at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 8 days.

Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Christensen, came to this country from Denmark in 1883 and settled on a farm northeast of Hardy. Fredricka Christensen was born to this marriage on Feb. 24, 1900, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Bethany Lutheran Church of Ruskin at an early age.

She was united in marriage to A. William Riber on Sept. 26, 1919, and they moved onto the farm of her parents where they lived their entire married life of almost 50 years. To this Christian marriage was born three daughters, Mrs. Ferne Ward of Denver, Mrs. Ethel Thayer of Guide Rock and Mrs. Erlene Reis of Florissant, Mo.

Mrs. Riber was preceded in death by one sister, Hilma, and one brother, who died at an early age; and one brother, Carl, who died in September of 1956.

In addition to her husband and three daughters, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Hilma Pedersen of Hastings, six grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends.

Rev. Kent Morse officiated and burial was in Spring Creek Cemetery at Ruskin. The Mullet Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of arrangements.
