Gary A. Bozarth, age 70, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2005 at the VNA Hospice Center.
He was born June 7, 1935 in Gary, IN, the son of Warren A. and Crystal F. (Mathias) Bozarth.
Gary was a 40-year employee of U.S.S. Gary Works, retiring in 1994 as a systems repairman. He was also an U.S. Army veteran; a member of the American Legion Post 94; the Steelworks Union Local #1014 and the First United Methodist Church in Valparaiso.
On February 15, 1958 in Valparaiso, he married Della Lambert, who survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving is a son, Michael Bozarth of Indianapolis; a daughter, Lori (Kevin) Havard of Wales, United Kingdom; and three step-grandchildren; a brother, Don Bozarth of NY; two sisters: Betty Marrell and Sharon Armstrong, both of Valparaiso; sisters-in-law, Wilma Hicks, Edna Abney and Judy (David) Briddick and brother-in-law, Loren (Lois) Lambert, all of IL and several nieces and nephews also survive him.
His father, Warren, and infant son, Daniel, preceded him in death.
Gary enjoyed nature, fishing, camping, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. David Byrum, officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2005 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church on Tuesday.
Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Valparaiso, VNA Hospice or the Banta Senior Center.
