George Raymond Cohran, age 93, of Douglas County passed away, Wednesday, March 12, 2008 in Douglasville.

He was born December 5, 1914 in Paulding Co., GA, the son of the late James Chester Cohran and Lena Mae Harper Cohran. He was employed as an insurance agent for over thirty years, mainly Life & Casualty Co. and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evie Taylor Cohran, his son, Richard Cohran, two sisters and five brothers.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Rosie Cohran of Lithia Springs, daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Bob McCready of Logansville, Joan and Terry Gamel of Whitesburg and Louise Blevens of Dougalsville and sister, Allie Rice.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11:00 AM from Hightower's Memorial Chapel in Douglasville with Rev. Terry Marbut officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Scott Gibson, Mike Gamel, Matthew Blevens, Justin Gibson, Robert Fields, Jerry Cohran and Gary Head serving as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Hightower's memorial Chapel, Douglasville, from 4-9PM and also Friday, March 14, 2008 from 9:30AM until the funeral hour.
