Adeline M. Kelm, formerly of Mattoon, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Antigo. She was born 90 years, 2 months ago to the day on February 3, 1918 in the town of Almon, the daughter of the late Alex and Elsa (Riemer) Kolpack.

On October 26, 1938 she married Edwin Kelm at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Polar. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1996.

They owned and operated a farm in the town of Hutchins until retirement. Adeline loved cooking, crocheting, and being with her family. She also loved music, playing the organ, keyboard and concertina and playing bass guitar in her husband's polka band.

Survivors include a daughter, Emily (Jack) Norem, Bowler; a son, Anton "James" King and son-in-law, Timothy Hickman, Wausau; six grandchildren, Randall Norem (fiancée, Laura), Ringle, Rick Norem, Bowler, Michelle Wagner, Sun Prairie, Brenda (Robin) Trantow, Marsha Hickman, all of Wausau and Mark (Jenni) Hickman, Elk River, MN; 15 great-grandchildren, Jessica and Chelsea Norem, Ringle, Samantha and Stephanie Norem, Wausau, Miranda, Christina and Michael Wagner, Sun Prairie, Mercedes and Jake Trantow, TJ Gascoigne and Grace Hickman, all of Wausau and McKinnzie, Jadin, Jesse and Benjamin Hickman, Elk River, MN; one great-great-granddaughter, Lexus Jean Lawson, Wausau; four sisters, Lorraine Wheeler, Joan Labbus, Doris (James) Norem, all of Antigo and Maxine Baseley, Bryant; three brothers, Ruben (Lucille) Kolpack, Milton (Gloria) Kolpack and Norman (Marge) Kolpack, all of Polar; sister-in-law, Arcelia Kolpack, Antigo; and more nieces and nephews than you can shake a stick at.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Hickman, a step-son, Robert Kelm; one infant granddaughter, two infant grandsons; a sister, Renata (Hilbert) Lucht; three brothers, Alex Kolpack in infancy, Edwin (Laurie) Kolpack and Lloyd Kolpack; sisters-in-law, Sophia (Augie) Wolfe, Elsa (Aaron) Blyton, Leona (Victor) Passuello; brothers-in-law, William (Viola) Kelm, Archie Wheeler, Richard Labbus and John Baseley.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 7, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church, Mattoon. The Rev. Jason Reed will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, town of Hutchins. Friends may call from 4PM to 8PM on Sunday at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood and again on Monday from 10AM until the time of services at the church. Thursday night after Mom passed away, we stood outside and listened for the polka music coming from Heaven. Dad played his concertina to welcome her home. Thanks for the memories Mom. We love you.
