Mrs. Mary Ellen Pancoast, 73, wife of Elwood Pancoast, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the home, rear 200 East Main Street, She had been ill for some time.
She was born April 4, 1879 in Macksburg, Washington Co., but had lived in Newark most of her life. She was a former employee of the Heisey plant, and a member of the American Glassworkers Union.
Her first husband, Thomas McCormick, died in 1917, and she leaves her husband, Elwood Pancoast, two sons, Charles McCormick of Toboso and William M. McCormick of Newark, also three grandchildren. She was the last of her family.
The body is at Criss Brothers Funeral Home and services will be held in the chapel here at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Claude Myers will officiate and burial will be made in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
