David Kent Peterson, age 68, passed away on April 16, 2010 at Garden Terrace Care Center in Millcreek Township - after a short, hard battle with dementia - with two of his loving daughters by his side.

He was born October 4, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clare J. and Nan Hatch Peterson, the youngest and third son of six children.

David was raised in Salt Lake City, where he attended Dilworth, Hillside Jr. High, graduating from Highland High School as a member of the first class of 1960. He played baseball, football, and golf. He also attended the U of U.

David loved his Scandinavian heritage and enjoyed sharing stories of his LDS mission to Norway. He was an avid golfer and fisherman - especially on the Snake River, and enjoyed walking, basketball, and, as a computer programmer, working with computers from their inception. His lifelong hobby of ham radio activities as call #K7ACE, brought him much joy and friends near and far. He dearly loved his family, his mother, daughters, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, and friends.

He married Betty Bolander on January 15, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple. Their union was blessed with six daughters. They later divorced.

David is survived by his daughters: Kim Bleak (Jason), Jill Walton, Lori Senkoff (Alex), Jenny Pace, Kelli Redd (Brian), and Robyn Ott (Bryce), and thirteen grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers, Gary R. and Richard C. Peterson (Geri), and sisters, Gwen P. Judkins and Nola P Neeley (Kenneth). He also leaves many nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends who will miss him dearly. Dave was preceded in death by his parents and eldest sister, JoAnn P. Bryner (John). He had an especially close and devoted relationship to his dear mother, Nan, and lovingly cared for her until her passing in 2001.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, with a viewing an hour and a half prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Bountiful Memorial Park.
