Mrs. Lucy Louise Lee James, 77 of Blackshear, passed away Monday evening, April 19, 2010, at the Pierce County Nursing Home.

Born in Hoboken, Georgia on September 5, 1932, Mrs. James had lived in Pierce County all of her adult life. She had worked at a shoe factory as a sewer and was a dedicated member and worker at Hacklebarney Baptist Church. Mrs. James had been the benevolence chairman at her church. She was a dedicated wife & mother and served the Lord with all her heart.

Mrs. James was a daughter of the late Noah & Inez Dowling Lee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis Donald James; a daughter, Peggy James Musgrove, and two brothers, Gary Lee and Tommy Lee.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy James Garcia and husband Carlos and Pam James all of Jacksonville; a son, Donnie James, wife Patricia, of Blackshear; a son-in-law, J. V. Musgrove, Jr. of Waycross; four sisters, Wynelle Groover, Helen (James) Burney and Pat (Luis) MeJia all of Blackshear and Glenda (W. D.) Inman of Valdosta; four brothers, Raynell (Berniece) Lee and Arland (Vernell) Lee all of Waycross, Hayden (Glenda Faye) Lee of Hortense and Darrell (Teresa) Lee of Blackshear; 7 grandchildren, Krystal Dixon, Leslie Anderson, Karyn Kenvin, Brandon Musgrove, Kandi Hall, Ben James and Chance James; 9 great grandchildren, Ryan Kemp, Christopher Waldrip, Tyler Musgrove, Cameron Melton, McKayla Musgrove, Ashley Musgrove, Alexys Soto, Caden Tickner and Brayden James and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Memorials:
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or to the Southeast Cancer Unit, PO Box 2764, Waycross, GA 31502.

Visitation:
Visitation for Mrs. James will be held Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Service:
Funeral services for Mrs. James will be held Thursday morning, April 19, 2010, at 11:00 o'clock from the Hacklebarney Baptist Church.

Mrs. James will lay in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family requests that residents and staff of the Pierce County Nursing Home serve as honorary pallbearers. Please meet at the church at 10:30 Thursday morning.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
