Alamosa resident Ralph Raymond Tabeling, 80, passed away April 13, 2010.

Ralph was born July 22, 1929 in Alamosa, Colorado the son of Cecil Tabeling and Catherine Gabaldon Tabeling. He served in the United States Navy and was a Korean War Veteran.

He was united in marriage to Connie Martinez on September 7, 1953 in Alamosa. Ralph was a member of the American Legion, Dicky Springer Post 1130 in Alamosa. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, model cars and airplanes, an avid sports fan and spending time with his loving family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife Connie Tabeling of Alamosa, Colo.; one daughter Colleen (Greg) Avila of Alamosa, Colo.; one son Matthew Alan Tabeling of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren Amber (Paul) Jacquez-Maez of Alamosa, Colo.; Jason (Shauna) Tabeling of Castle Rock, Colo.; Justin (Maria Elena) Tabeling of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Adam Tabeling of Boulder, Colo.; one great grandson Zavier Maez. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Catherine Tabeling, one son Chris Tabeling, one sister Frances Padilla and two brothers Raymond and Fritz Tabeling.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 2 p.m. at River of Life Assembly of God Church in Alamosa. Interment will follow at Alamosa Cemetery with full military honors. Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa who is in care of the arrangements.
