Mary M. Boylan, 85, formerly of the Havertown section of Haverford, died April 19 at Granite Farms Estates in Middletown.
Born in Philadelphia, she had resided at Granite Farms Estates for the past five years.
She grew up in West Philadelphia and graduated from West Catholic High School for Girls in 1942.
After graduation, she was employed as a secretary at Millprint in Philadelphia, a printer of plastic wrapping, until her marriage to the late William V. Boylan in 1947.
Mrs. Boylan spent many happy years as a homemaker, raising three children, two of whom were adopted as infants.
She returned to employment in 1972 as a secretary at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary School in Havertown when her youngest child was in the first grade. She was employed there until her retirement in 1995.
Mrs. Boylan enjoyed knitting, embroidery and sewing in her free time and sewed many of her children's clothes. She also enjoyed playing bridge and socializing with her many friends.
Survivors: Daughters, Julie Brady, Mary McCabe; son, William V. Boylan Jr.
Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Road, Media.
Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Burial: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple.
Arrangements: Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St., Media.
