A native of Houma and resident of Denham Springs, she died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at age 70.

Chauvin Funeral Home Inc., Houma, in charge of arrangements. Interment in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

Survived by sons, Ricky T. Hammonds and wife Myra Malbrough Hammonds, of Baton Rouge, and Mark W. Gillespie and wife Donia Farrow Gillespie, of Denham Springs; daughter, Kim Hammonds Robichaux and husband Ricky Joseph Robichaux, of Houston; grandchildren, Lea Ann Hammonds, of Baton Rouge, Hollie Elizabeth Gillespie and Ross Winston Gillespie, both of Denham Springs; brother, Johnny Glover, of Bourg; and sister, Phala Glover LaCoste, of Bayou Blue.

Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas F. Glover and Idas Baumgardner Glover; husband, Alfred Harvey Gillespie; and a grandchild, Alison Kay Savoie.

She retired from Chabert Medical Center as a nurse. She was a past member of the Krewe of Hyacinthians, Steel Magnolias and Red Hat Society. She volunteered at the Council on Aging in Denham Springs.

She enjoyed line dancing, music, reading and traveling. She also was a member of the COA book club and Denham Springs Eagles Club.
