Mr. Beard was born Nov. 22, 1927 in Houston County and had been a resident of Lufkin for the past six years, previously having lived in Crockett. He was a retired rancher and attended the Keltys Methodist Church.
Mr. Beard was preceded in death by his sister Mickey Reed; son, Charlie Baldwin Beard. Survivors include his wife, Evvie Beard of Lufkin; mother, Sarah Beard of Crockett; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Ray Morgan of Lufkin;; daughter-in-law, Linda Kathy of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Charlie Stephon Beard of Dallas, Sherry Lynn Albright and husband, Bill of Crockett, Lori Ann Brown and husband, Donald of Lufkin, Michael Baldwin Beard of Nacogdoches, LaTisha Marie Morgan of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Meredith Allbright of Crockett, Morgan Raeann Brown of Lufkin; brother, Roy Beard and wife, Polly of Crockett; sister, Mary Rider and husband, Ed of Palestine; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Beard were held Friday, March 27, at 4:30 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ottis Byers officiating. Interment followed in the New Energy Cemetery.Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
