• Matthew HEIDT (the son of Abel HEIDT & Elizabeth SHEAROUSE, he administered his father's estate 1838-1840, and himself died by 1846), &
• Hannah WEITMAN (born 1770, daughter of Jediah WEITMAN & Hannah KIEFFER, Hannah WEITMAN HEIDT was married in 1815 by the Lutheran minister at Ebenezer).
Josiah was the brother of James Ernest HEIDT, the husband of Ann Rebecca HORNING (couple buried in Savannah).
In 1846, Josiah was married to Julia Eliza MILLER. They were the parents of six children, born 1849-1870 (four buried here at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery):
• Thomas Robert HEIDT, the husband of Fenwick Frances MINGLEDORFF,
• Laura Elizabeth HEIDT, the wife of George Washington FETZER,
• Harriet Evelina HEIDT, the wife of John Herschel DUGGER, and
• Edward J. HEIDT.
The other two children, Abbey, and a child whose name is unknown, are shown on the 1900 as five of six children Julia had that were no longer living, Thomas being the only one still living by 1900. It is unknown where Abbey and this other child are buried.

Heidt, Josiah W. died at his home five miles from Marlow, Effington County GA on 7/25/1904 at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 8 days survived by his invalid wife. Burial was in the cemetery of Zion Lutheran Church. Lutheran Visitor 8/18/1904, page 13
