The story goes Nancy first married Fauntleroy Day who died from the kick of a horse. They had one son Elbert Day born in 1836. After her husbands death she married his cousin Melton Day who later died of Typhoid Fever. They had one child Martha Ann. It came to pass that her friend Francis Saunders Christy was also dying and Nancy was caring for her. She ask Nancy to marry her husband after she was gone that they would be good for each other. A few weeks after Francis died, Phillip and Nancy started for the Squires on horse back to get married. They did marry on April 18, 1841. In 1853 they traveled to Linn Co. Mo. by ox cart where they made there home and raised many more children. Joseph B., Taylor Phillip, Ambrose Scott, Isaac Benford, Nancy, Henry, and Mary. They were married for 50 years. Nancy died of pneumonia at 94.
