Bonnie Lee McAlpin, 75, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at St. Francis Select Hospital, Wichita.

She was born April 29, 1934 to Albert and Pauline Burke Showers in Holly, Colorado. A lifetime area resident, she was an LPN at Trinity Hospital and Western Plains Medical Complex for 40 years.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cimarron. Bonnie enjoyed going Bowling and Ceramics.

On June 4, 1950 she married Ronald Bridges. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1968. She married Delbert "Red" McAlpin on September 2, 1983. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1995.

Survivors include: 2 daughters, Debbie Clark and husband Bob of Cimarron; Linda Poe of Las Cruses, New Mexico; 7 grandchildren, Heather Busch and husband Mark, Tyson Clark and wife Misty, Kate Majerus and husband Aaron, Larry Joe White, Rusty Poe, Robbie Poe and wife Staci, Randi Hamilton and husband Dexter and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Donna Bridges-White, and a brother, Albert Leon Showers, Jr.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Friday, April 23, 2010 at the United Methodist Church, Cimarron, with Rev. Kent Little presiding. Friends may call from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm Thursday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron. Burial will be in the Cimarron Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to the Shepherds Center or Gray County EMS both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 446, Cimarron, Kansas 67835.
