Phyllis Morral Johnson, 59, of Harrisonburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at the University of Virginia Hospital.

Mrs. Johnson was born on July 8, 1948, in Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late Burrel W. and Ruby Huffman Morral. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Rife.

Phyllis was a 1967 graduate of Turner Ashby High School. She worked at Lowes for many years and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Vision of Hope United Methodist Church, formerly known as Mount Sinai United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed working with the Morral family genealogy, fishing and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Paul D. Johnson, whom she married March 15, 1968. Also surviving are one son, Michael D. Johnson and wife, Karah, of Mount Crawford; one daughter, Tamela Durrett and husband, Robert, of Harrisonburg; four grandchildren, Katelyn Johnson, Ethan Durrett, Nessah Johnson and Seth Johnson; two brothers, Richard "Buzz" Morral and Johnny Morral, both of Dayton; four sisters, Adaline Hilbert of Hanover, Pa., Mary Lee Ewing and Donna Chandler, both of Harrisonburg, and Patsy Londeree of Staunton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by very close friends and cousins, Bonnie Miller and Greg Adamson.

Pastor David M. Burch will conduct a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at Kyger Funeral Home, 3173 Spotswood Trail in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Mount Sinai Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
