He was survived by his wife, Esther; his children, Janice Elaine Deaton (Benny), Sammy Arnold Gammenthaler (Loretha) and Robert Allen Gammenthaler (Pamela); grandchildren, and an extended family of relatives. His funeral held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Umatilla, FL, on November 13, 2009, and his interment was held with military honors.
