Thursday, May 6, 1971 Obit for Mrs. Georgia Gallant, 95, of Crockett, died Friday morning, April 30, in a local hospital, following a short illness. Mrs. Gallant was born in Houston County on March 15, 1876, and had lived here her entire lifetime. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. A. S. Higginbotham officiating. Interment was in the McCarter Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom McDonald, Max Chapman, C. B. Spence, Rayford Gallant, Jesse Genty and Bobby Minter.
Survivors include three sons, George and W. L. Gallant, both of Crockett, and Doyle Gallant of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Jessie Ed Tyer of Houston; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Callaway Funeral Home of Crockett was in charge of arrangements.
