Emma was hit by a drunk driver driving a motorcycle. She was struck and killed while running up the side of the street to greet her Father coming home from work, as she did everyday. She was in sight of her Father when hit and killed.

At the time of her death, the local Sheriff told her parents "you won't miss her, you have four more". The motorcycle rider was never prosecuted.

Emma was only 7 years old.
